The Renmin Park is a popular and well-used park in the city center. It is located between Tonghu Lu and Fuqian Jie, and is accessible through gates on the north and south sides. The north gate is right off Tonghu Lu in a bustling retail area. During the day street vendors set up shop on the sidewalk outside the gate. The south gate is a little quieter, being set back farther from the street.

  I found that when walking around town the park is a nice place to get away from the chaos and noise of the city. Inside the park are reflecting pools, a large plaza area, a very small children's carnival (we didn't see it open), and what must have been a small zoo at one time. Surprisingly at the "Zoo" near the North Gate, there is an old MIG fighter plane on a pedestal. In the morning, the park is very popular with the townspeople for tie chi exercises.
