All About Gaoyou City
This site was built as a hometown link for children adopted from
Gaoyou and their families, but all are welcome to take a virtual
tour of this
historic city.
Established over two thousand years ago Gaoyou resides on the
banks of the Grand Canal and
the eastern shore of Gaoyou Lake.
It has many historic landmarks including the
Yucheng Post Museum, the
largest and best preserved example of an ancient courier station in
China.
Gaoyou is also a modern city equipped with all the modern
conveniences a tourist or businessperson could want. The city
leaders have also made the city
friendly to business
with a number of special economic zones and a thriving garment
industry.
Note: This site is a labor of love not a source of income. You won't find any outside advertising
here, but I do encourage all to support the charities working in Gaoyou;
the Half the Sky Foundation,
The Homeland Children's Foundation,
and A Child's Right.
